Binley Woods’ huge 999 response to ‘house full of smoke’

A huge 999 response was sprung to a “house full of smoke” in Binley Woods. The initial 999 call came in as a house fire with one person trapped at around 10.30pm last night (May 22).

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service sent two engines to the scene, with backup called in from Binley in Coventry. West Midlands Ambulance Service and Warwickshire Police attended the scene.

They found the front room of a house was “full of smoke”. But there was no fire. A female resident, who was in the back room at the front, had left a candle burning, and it gave off a lot of smoke
