Leicester City are preparing for imminent talks over a €3m deal for Pierre Dwomoh

Leicester City are set to hold talks over a potential deal for Royal Antwerp midfielder Pierre Dwomoh in the coming days, according to reporter Sacha Tavolieri.

Leicester City are in a difficult transfer window as they seek to strengthen Premier League football while keeping costs down to avoid further breaches of PSR regulations.

The Foxes won the Championship title after their automatic promotion hopes suffered a scare, but ended up pipping both Ipswich Town and Leeds United into top spot.

They will need to be smart with their summer recruitment and a new link has now emerged in reports.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Leicester City are among the teams tracking 19-year-old midfielder Pierre Dwomoh, who currently plays in his native Belgium with top-flight side Royal Antwerp.

Luton Town are also admirers of the promising talent, but the Foxes are lining up a bid of €3m (around £2.5m). There are plans for talks between Leicester and Dwomoh’s representatives in the coming days and if an agreement is reached there, they could continue to reach an agreement with the club.

Who is this?

THE QUIZ STARTS!

Smart business?

As previously pointed out, Leicester City will need to be smart with their recruitment this summer. Moves for up-and-coming talent like Dwomoh could prove to be smart.

While signing unproven players at Premier League level is not ideal, it is wise to move for promising prospects with resale value, especially at around £2.5m.

Dwomoh is also a player set for a bright future. He spent time in the academies of Anderlecht and Gent learning his trade, a move to Antwerp eventually earned him a step into senior football.

He spent this season on loan at RWD Molenbeek, where he contributed two goals and one assist in 33 games.

Preparing for the Premier League

Exciting times await Leicester City as they relaunch into Premier League football with Enzo Maresca at the helm. With a promising manager and talented players on board, they will be hoping to find joy in their return to the top flight.

The extent of their PSR sentences remains to be seen though. This could have a big impact on their chances of avoiding an immediate return to the Championship and their transfer business this summer.

Smart deals for youngsters like Dwomoh could be a smart way for the Foxes to future-proof themselves and future-proof their assets.

However, Luton Town are keen, time will tell if an agreement can be reached with talks set to take place in the coming days.
