Swindon burst water main, causing queues

“Our crew are currently repairing the broken water main on Thamesdown Drive,” the company said.

“Everyone whose water supply has been affected should get their water back.

“We apologize for the disruption to traffic in the area and appreciate your patience while we fix this.”

Swindon Borough Council is also expected to attend the scene.

Thamesdown Drive is closed at the Lady Lane/Blunsdon Arms junction eastbound (towards the Turnpike) and traffic is being diverted to Lady Lane.

The road is closed westbound at Elstree Way and cars are being diverted through Abbey Meads.

The trucks will be turned around and made to go in the opposite direction, police said.
