Royal Enfields will hit the streets of Bangladesh from May

The Ifad Group has entered into an agreement with Royal Enfield Motorcycles to bring the iconic motorcycles to the streets of Bangladesh. Ifad Group is expected to start commercial activity in July this year. Initially, four models of Royal Enfield motorcycles will be launched: Bullet, Meteor, Hunter and Classic.

Taskeen Ahmed, Vice President of Ifad Motors Ltd has confirmed that they plan to launch Royal Enfield bikes in Bangladesh from July this year. Advance booking of these bikes is expected to start from May 2024.

Royal Enfield, the 350cc motorcycle is considered as one of the most popular bikes among bike enthusiasts. Previously, Bangladesh had a cc limit that was relaxed by the government in September 2023, giving approval to motorcycles with up to 350 cc engines for the streets.

However, the import ban on fully built bikes above 165cc is still active in Bangladesh. Only locally manufactured bicycles that have passed the 165 cc threshold can ride on the streets.
