Super League squad news: New signings line up for debut as Wigan suffer double blow

The 21-man squads for Sunday’s Super League Round 12 fixtures have been confirmed.

London Broncos host Hull KR with the Broncos hoping to add to their first win of the season after beating Hull FC last time out. KR will be hoping to bounce back from their heavy defeat in the Challenge Cup semi-final.

In Sunday’s other game, Salford Red Devils host Wigan Warriors. The Red Devils are currently sixth in the Super League table and a win against Wigan would close the gap on the top four. Wigan are currently top of the table and one of four teams with 16 points. However, Wigan have a game in hand on their rivals.

London Broncos have named two players from the squad who recently signed contracts to stay with the club until the end of the current Super League season.

It was confirmed yesterday that France international Ugo Tison has signed a permanent deal from Catalans Dragons which will run until the end of the season.

Tison is joined in the squad by Jacob Jones, whose loan from Leigh Leopards has been extended for the season. Harvey Makin quits the squad after returning to Wigan at the end of his loan spell. Jack Hughes and Matt Davies come into the team with James Meadows injured.

Danny Richardson is set to make his debut for Hull KR, being included in the squad for the first time since joining from Castleford Tigers. Connor Barley is also in for KR for the first time this season. He joins Jack Broadbent and Jack Brown returning to the squad.

Joe Burgess left late for an HIA assessment and now misses the game. Louix Gorman and Leo Tennison also quit the team. Reiss Butterworth is the other change from the 21-man squad, having left the club to join Dewsbury Rams on loan.

Not having qualified for the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup, Salford can name a strong team for their game against Wigan. Harvey Wilson comes straight into the team and is in line to make his debut, having recently joined from Wigan.

Shane Wright, Jake Shorrocks. Gil Dudson and Joe Mellor are all back in contention for the Red Devils after recovering from recent injuries. Cade Cust, Jack Ormondroyd, Ben Hellewell and Adam Sidlow are all out as Salford get hit.

Sam Eseh is on the verge of making his debut for Wigan after recently spending time on loan with Castleford Tigers. The former Wakefield Trinity man comes straight into the team following the end of his recent loan. Young prostitute Tom Forber also makes the 21-man squad after spending time on loan at Barrow Raiders this season.

The Warriors are weakened by the suspensions they received in the Challenge Cup semi-final against KR. Both Kaide Ellis and Sam Walters received one-game suspensions following the bowl game, and the Warriors decided not to appeal the decision.

Ellis was given a grade B charge for dangerous contact, while Walters was given a grade B charge for head contact.
