More than 220,000 people fly from Birmingham Airport this half term | News

The main destinations are Palma, Dublin, Amsterdam, Dubai and Antalya

Birmingham Airport is set for another busy holiday and school break with around 221,500 customers traveling there over the next nine days from Friday 24 May to Sunday 2 June. This is a 15% increase over the same period last year.

Al Titterington, Director of Terminal Operations at Birmingham Airport says:

“As with all our recent advice, customers should arrive at the airport when check-in opens, this can be found in their airline booking details. For customers traveling with liquids in hand luggage, please note that they cannot exceed 100ml. With our new scanners, liquids, pastes and gels no longer need to be in plastic bags and can be carried freely in hand luggage.”

“Our security waiting area is still subject to change and customers should follow the direction of our customer teams when at the airport who are available to assist.”

Top tips for travelers for their half term/bank holiday break:

Customers traveling with Jet2 or TUI can drop off their bags the day before and on the day they travel, they go straight to security.

Check in Zones in the terminal:

➡Zone A for Jet2

➡Zone D for Emirates

➡Zones B & C for all other airlines

Liquids, pastes and gels, up to 100ml must be left in your hand luggage during the security search.

All electrical appliances to remain in hand luggage during security search.

When going through security, make sure all items are out of your pockets, including phones, keys, coins and tissues, etc., remove all belts. Clocks can be left on.
