Four simple at-home exercises that will tone your calves for summer

We’ve all heard the advice about not skipping leg day at the gym, and with the return of short and skirt weather, that motto may be more vital; as always – especially when it comes to toning your calves. The TikTok hashtag #HowToSlimCalves has almost 50 million views alone, highlighting how many people want to tone their legs

With this in mind, Leon Bolmeer, fitness expert and director of Geezer’s Boxing, has designed his own workout to help tone and sculpt your calves.




This workout is designed to be performed two or three times per week with at least one day of rest in between for best results. The range of exercises will give your calves a good workout from different angles, helping to tone and define them, but it’s important to remember that consistency is key.

Climbing stairs

Despite the name, you don’t need a set of stairs to climb the steps, so there’s no excuse for people in apartments or bungalows to miss out on this important exercise.

First, you need to find a sturdy step, bench, or daily that even a thick book will do the job. Then you simply need to stand up on one leg while contracting the calf muscle at the top, then lower back down.

Repeat 15 times on each leg.
