Maya Jama supports boyfriend Stormzy by cheering on his AFC Croydon Athletic team as the rapper enjoys wild celebrations after their historic play-off win

Maya Jama proudly supported her boyfriend Stormzy as the non-league side she co-owns earned a historic play-off tie on Tuesday.

Heading to Redding Way to watch the action unfold, the 29-year-old Love Island host was spotted in the stands during the Combined Counties Premier League South Play Off Final with AFC Croydon Athletic’s Knaphill FC.

Maya cut a stylish figure in an oversized black blazer and cargo pants as she grabbed a beer before heading to the game.

After rekindling their romance last year, Maya and Stormzy looked cozier than ever as they joined fans to watch the match unfold.

The team secured promotion to the eighth tier of English football with a 2-1 win, sparking wild celebrations from the players on the pitch after the game.

Stormzy bought AFC Croydon Athletic in 2023 in a consortium alongside Premier League star Wilfried Zaha and former Crystal Palace caretaker boss Danny Young.

Both stars grew up near the club’s 3,000-seater Mayfield Stadium in Thornton Heath and made the decision to invest in the club to “do what’s right for the local community”.

It seems the rapper’s investment paid off, and after the game, Stormzy joined the players in the dressing room for more celebrations.

The team showed off their best dance moves while drinking beer, marking one of the biggest successes in the club’s history.

Earlier this week, Stormzy also revealed he is opening a football center with a recording studio in his hometown of Croydon to provide music and sporting opportunities to young Londoners.

The space, from the existing Selhurst Sports Arena, includes football pitches, a sports games room, a conference room and a recording studio that can be used by aspiring local artists as well as for podcasts.

He said: “I have wanted to do this for a long time and now there is a community space that everyone in the area will be able to use and benefit from.

“When I was growing up there wasn’t anything like this for young people so it means a lot that we now have a facility like this in Croydon.”

Maya and Stormzy previously dated for four years before splitting, with the rapper publicly stating that he “never loved anyone like I loved her.”

However, they confirmed they are back together after jetting off to Greece for a romantic getaway in August last year.

Maya became Instagram official with the rapper in December when she shared photos of the pair together at the British Fashion Awards, which she hosted.

Since then there has been no shortage of public appearances, with Stormzy even flying to South Africa to support the presenter during the Love Island final.

The couple proved to be stronger than ever as they discussed their love during an intimate chat on social media on Valentine’s Day.

During a game of “who has more chances”, Maya confirmed that she was the first to say “I love you” in the relationship, while the rapper captioned the clip: “Mi amor – I hope everyone had a day Lovers”.
