“I made sure the stranger who stole my seat on the coach regretted it” | Leicestershire Live

Finding someone who pinched your chair is the stuff of nightmares. Whether you’re on public transport, settling into a cinema or theater seat, or about to enjoy your lunch on a park bench – it’s frustrating when someone catches your eye.

But what’s even more annoying is when you grab that chair, only to walk away for a moment and come back to find someone has cheekily pulled it out from under you. This exact scenario played out for one guy on a recent coach trip. He told how he settled into his chair, scattering his personal belongings, which he left behind during a “scheduled meal stop”, reports the Mirror.

Upon reloading into the coach, he was shocked to discover that all his belongings had been dumped elsewhere, with an intruder occupying the chosen spot. He noted that the foreigner’s action was “pointless” given the availability of other empty seats and described how the newcomer “wouldn’t budge” despite being asked to move.

Sharing his ordeal on Reddit, he said: “(I was on a Greyhound bus trip from Seattle to Spokane. Halfway through we stopped for a scheduled meal stop. People getting off left their jackets, the books etc. where they lay.

“When I went up again, I found a (foreigner) sitting on my seat. He removed the objects and placed them elsewhere. This was totally unnecessary as there were many other empty seats. He didn’t move”.

In an attempt to avoid any commotion, the man opted for another seat instead of arguing with the intruder. However, at the next stop, he took the opportunity to demand an ingenious form of punishment.

He said: “He was reading a paperback avidly. I made a stop further. When he got off, I went to his seat and took out the last 30 pages of the book and put it back.”
