The Himalayan 450 debuts with a new engine, Royal Enfield calls this engine ‘Sherpa 450’. This 451 cc engine is capable of producing 39 PS and 40 Nm of torque. Its torque of 40 Nm is the highest among single-cylinder engines. The new engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a slipper clutch and assist. Braking duties will be handled by a single 320mm disc at the front and a 270mm disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard and can be turned off in the rear.

We have a new twin-spar that includes the engine with USD front forks and preload adjustable mono shock. We have a ground clearance of 230 mm. The wheel sizes of the Himalayan 450 are 21 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear. Tire sizes are 90/90-21 at the front and 140/80-R17 at the rear. With a full tank, the Himalayan 450 weighs 198 kg, which is a lot.

The Himalayan 450 will come in three trim variants – Base, Pass and Summit. The bike also comes in five color options: Kaza Brown, Slate Himalayan Slat, Slate Poppy Blue, Kamet White and Hanle Black. Talking about the features, the Himalayan 450 comes with a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, driving modes, standard LED lighting and tail lamp integrated into the turn indicators.

The Himalayan 450 is slated to launch on November 7, 2023. What about the price? On the pricing front, the Himalayan 450 is expected to be priced around Rs 3 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Once launched, it will rival bikes like BMW 310 GS and KTM 390 ADV.
