Watch: Cat invades pitch during League One football match

An adventurous cat gave footballers a run for their money on Tuesday night after taking to the pitch at Hillsborough Stadium.

The athletic feline made a last-gasp appearance with just minutes remaining as Sheffield Wednesday trailed Wigan 1-0 in League One.

Visiting Wigan defender Josh Kerr eventually scooped up the mischievous moggy and passed it to someone on the pitch before play resumed.

“The little one left the stadium safe and sound,” Sheffield Wednesday tweeted.

The match ended 1-0 for the Owls, who remain one point outside the play-off places.
