Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier is hoping for another clean sheet this afternoon in the Championship play-off final, backed by what he believes is the best crowd in the country.

Leeds head into their biggest game of the season for some time as they take on Southampton at Wembley in the Championship play-off final this afternoon.

After heading into the play-offs in dire form, Leeds bounced back in the second leg against Norwich City with an emphatic display to win 4-0 at Elland Road.

As we look at the game later today, Illan Meslier was one of the key features of the official matchday program for the playoff final.

In which, the Frenchman was asked a series of questions from A to Z on a variety of subjects, expressing his “unpopular opinion”.

The Leeds stopper’s response:

“Elland Road has the best atmosphere in England.”

Playoff Final: Leeds United v Southampton predictions

Leeds United have sold their Wembley allowance

As Meslier points out, Leeds’ atmosphere is virtually unmatched in this country and it will be on display at Wembley this afternoon.

Naturally, Leeds sold their entire Wembley allowance and more, while Southampton did the same on the west side of the ground.

The Leeds crowd could get the side over the line at Wembley

If the atmosphere matches what unfolded against Norwich in the second leg, it’s like having an extra player sometimes.

The players will have to follow suit with a similar performance if we are to win, but it is absolutely possible.

The players feed off the crowd in such an environment and it adds another level to the performances, hopefully today is the same.

Quiz: Remember Leeds United’s last 15 results against Southampton before the play-off final?
