A Tesco cafe worker has shared a shocking encounter online. They said: “I was on my break going out and had my jacket over my uniform as I work in the cafe and I often get mistaken for shop staff. A lady came up to me and started asking me where things were. I politely explained that I work in the cafe and have no idea about the store and she started yelling at me.

“I continued to explain that I had no idea where things were but offered to find a member of staff to help and she revealed how she was employed at Tesco. I should know the store, call me stupid and walk past me. … he’s not the first person to say that to me, and he probably won’t be the last.”

In another incident, a worker recounted his disbelief when a customer questioned their honesty. They said: “The guy asked for coconut water, he said we don’t have any available, I can’t remember why, and he says, ‘Is that true or you just don’t want to get it?’ The bloody cheek. “
