Wiltshire Walking Festival reconnects people with nature

A walking festival to raise awareness of the beauty of Wiltshire’s countryside is underway.

The ChalkEscape Walking Festival 2024 includes short walks, longer walks, sketch walks, wildlife and history walks taking place throughout the summer.

More walks are planned over the coming week, including dog friendly walks, butterfly spotting trips and social walks for the reclusive in Cranborne Chase and the Chalke Valley.

Rachel Limb, 55, from the Chase & Chalke Project, said: “This is the fifth year of the festival.

“The aim is to reconnect people with the landscape, ecology and history of the local area.”
