Baby caught in Leeds house fire

Firefighters rescued a child from a burning house in Leeds this morning.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the Copperfield View house fire just after 9.30am today. There, they discovered an adult and a child were trapped inside.




Three engines were sent to the scene, including two from Hunslet and one from Leeds, and found the house in flames. Firefighters then rescued the person and child from the building before extinguishing the flames.

In a statement to Leeds Live today, a Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “We were called at 09.32 this morning to reports of a fire at a property in Copperfield View. We sent three crews, two from Hunslet and one from Leeds.

“On arrival firefighters rescued an adult and a child from the property and extinguished the fire before leaving the scene.”
