Bedworth Civic Hall received £165,000

NUNEATON and Bedworth Borough Council have welcomed the news that Bedworth Civic Hall CIO has received £165,000 in funding.

Bedworth Civic Hall and Community Hub will be launched thanks to money from the ACT ONE Community Ownership and Transformation Project, with the doors hoping to open in July.

Councilor Chris Watkins said: “The council is delighted that the CIO is making progress with funding and we are working hard to enable the reopening.

“We are extending the lease handover timelines to allow the CIO to determine the time needed to receive funding and complete work.”

In March, the CIO exchanged contracts on a 20-year deal for Bedworth Civic Hall with the Council.

The lease will only come into effect if the external funding identified by the CIO in their business plan has been secured.

Several shows have already been confirmed, including hometown Julie Bromage Dance Academy with Love the Memory in July and pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk in December.
