Richie Myler reacts to ‘exciting’ loan signing at Hull FC after Wigan Warriors move confirmed

Hull FC have confirmed the loan signing of Tiaki Chan from Wigan Warriors, as reported by Hull Live on Tuesday. The 23-year-old has joined the club on a short-term deal, understood to be an initial two weeks.

Chan joined Wigan from Catalans Dragons in the off-season. He is Australian-born but a France international and will go straight into Hull’s 21-man squad for Sunday’s trip to London Broncos.

Chan can play either at prop or in the back row, with the latter being a likely option. He has made 62 senior appearances in his career to date, representing Saint-Estève XIII, Catalans Dragons and Toulouse Olympique.

Hull FC director of rugby Richie Myler said: “We are grateful to Wigan for allowing Tiaki to join us in a position we are currently in lightly. Tiaki has a real desire to compete at the highest level and we are delighted to have him in our group, I am excited to see what he can bring us in the coming weeks.”

Chan is Hull’s fourth loan signing of the year following spells for Ed Chamberlain, Joe Bullock and Matty Russell. Chamberlain was recalled by parent club Leigh Leopards earlier this week, while Bullock and Russell joined from Warrington in March.
