Revealed: Prince William’s four-word response to Harry’s Meghan pregnancy announcement | Examiner Live

When Prince Harry revealed to his brother Prince William that Meghan Markle was pregnant with their first child, William simply responded with four words.

In 2018, the joy was palpable when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex learned that they would soon become parents. It was at Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October of that year that they chose to share the happy news with the rest of the royal family.

In his memoir, ‘Spare’, Harry recounts this memorable moment which took place during the reception at St George’s Hall in Windsor. His description brings out a surrealism unusual for the time, as he writes: “I was in a big room with armor on the walls. Strange room, strange moment.”

Looking back at how William reacted to his announcement, Harry recalls breaking into a smile before replying with just four simple words: “We have to tell Kate,” the Mirror reports.

The happy reaction of the Princess of Wales is also worth mentioning. According to Harry, she greeted the news with a big smile and heartfelt congratulations, adding that their reactions were exactly what he had hoped for.

The news of their pregnancy was also shared with King Charles during the wedding. Recalling Charles’ delighted response, the Duke of Sussex wrote: ‘Just before a drink for the bride and groom, I cornered Pa in his office. He was delighted to learn that he would be a grandfather for the fourth time; a big smile warmed me.”
