Harry Winks hails potential new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca as incredible

Chelsea are closing in on appointing Leicester City’s Enzo Maresca as their new manager, with the Blues approaching Leicester for permission to speak to the Italian.

The Blues announced the departure of Mauricio Pochettino on Tuesday night after just one season at the club, and in the following days they worked hard to name a replacement.

He is now reportedly closing in on Maresca, a former assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, as the next boss.

The 44-year-old guided Leicester to the Championship title last season and promotion back to the Premier League, but the step up to the top flight is huge and this would represent a huge risk for Chelsea.

However, current Leicester star Harry Winks may have given Chelsea fans something positive when discussing his manager in March.

Winks, who has worked under the likes of Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino, described Maresca as incredible and the best he has worked under, saying he believes he will go straight to the top of management.
