“Fears are growing” inside the Championship club as Manchester United target their teenage striker

Manchester United fans are expecting major additions to the first team this summer, but Ineos could also be looking to bring top talent to Old Trafford.

The feeling around United is very different to what it was even two weeks ago.

United had lost to Crystal Palace and Arsenal, leaving fans feeling the season couldn’t end soon enough.

Erik ten Hag then guided United to wins over Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion to end their Premier League campaign.

United took that into Saturday’s FA Cup final, producing a superb and somewhat unexpected performance to beat Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.

Ten Hag has given himself a real chance to convince Ineos to keep him on board ahead of what promises to be a huge summer for United.

Manchester United want Igor Tyjon

Ineos certainly need to ensure that major additions to the first team arrive this summer after a disappointing Premier League campaign.

However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe will take a long-term approach to rebuilding United, and that could include signing some talented prospects.

Homegrown talent must be a focus and The Sun’s Alan Nixon now claims United are interested in signing Blackburn Rovers teenager Igor Tyjon.

Fears are said to be growing inside Blackburn that United will come up with a move for Tyjon this summer.

Rovers would like to tie Tyjon down to a new deal in a bid to fend off United, but the Championship club could lose the youngster.

Brighton and Crystal Palace have shown interest, but Tyjon – formerly of Rochdale – could be tempted by a move to Old Trafford.

The 16-year-old has already been on the bench in two Championship games for Rovers and has scored twice in three games at Premier League 2 level.

An England Under-16 international who can also play for Poland, Tyjon has a big future ahead of him – and that future could come with United.

United previously courted Tyjon

A move to sign Tyjon would be a turn of events, which previously rejected the chance to sign him.

Tyjon’s father Marcin spoke to Onet in Poland in April and discussed the teenager’s career so far.

Tyjon senior noted that a number of clubs rejected the striker as a child; Everton, Liverpool, even Preston North End.

They all looked at Tyjon and decided not to sign him and it was a similar story at United.

Tyjon appeared in games for United but was not snapped up, paving the way for a move to Rochdale.

United have continued to pursue Tyjon and may now have a real chance to bring him to Old Trafford permanently after all.

Tyjon would certainly be one for the future at United, but Ineos may now move to lure him away from Ewood Park with the aim of turning him into a star at United.
