Birmingham startup Acclinate raises $7 million in funding

Big news for an exciting Birmingham startup. Earlier, the Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) announced that local startup Acclinate recently raised $7 million in Series A funding.

Founded in 2020 by Tiffany Whitlow and Del Smith, Acclinate is a medical technology company working to increase inclusion in health research. Acclinate’s mission is simple: to encourage diversity in clinical trials and empower minorities to make informed decisions about participating in clinical trials.

That same year, Accliante moved its corporate headquarters from Huntsville to Birmingham. Acclinate is now a tenant at The Denham Building in Parkside.

Closing a $7 million funding round

Acclinate has raised $7 million in a recent Series A funding round, according to a recent Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) press release.

With the support of prominent healthcare organizations like Cencora and Labcorp, we are poised to accelerate tangible change in the healthcare industry and empower diverse communities to proactively manage their health.”

The funding round, led by Cencora Ventures with notable contributions from Labcorp and Latimer Ventures, will enable Accliante to increase its impact on clinical trial diversity and health equity.
