A popular baker is opening a new restaurant on the outskirts of Bristol months after closing

A well-known Bristol baker has opened a new bakery in an inner market on the outskirts of Bristol. Ben Fortune ran The Warmley Bakehouse before it closed in March due to rising costs, but has now opened The Market Bakehouse in the Indoor Market on Regent Street in Kingswood.

The popular baker reopened following the previous liquidation of its bakery, which was blamed on rising costs, rents and the ongoing cost of living crisis. A local customer set up a GoFundMe to try to keep the bakery open after the closing.

On Saturday, May 25, The Market Bakehouse opened for the first time in nearly three months. Mr Fortune confirmed the news that the bakery will reopen in April.

The bakery serves a wide range of food, including pastries and fresh bread, which has made the bakery famous in the local community. A range of cakes including white chocolate and cranberry flapjacks and lemon cake are also on offer.

Thanks for all the lovely comments about the bread and food and the great job the guys have done in the cafe.”
