Liverpool FC fans make emotional predictions as Jurgen Klopp bids his final farewell

Thousands of Liverpool fans bid an emotional farewell to Jurgen Klopp for the last time.

Tonight’s event, an evening with Jurgen Klopp, will be a chance for Klopp to look back on his nine years as Liverpool manager and for fans to relive some of his greatest moments.

T. One bar that was particularly busy was Jurgen’s Bar on Brunswick Street. Many groups had gathered for a drink before saying goodbye to Klopp. One group traveled across the UK with one person from Swansea, another from Norfolk and another from Northamptonshire.

Tommy Milligan, 55, from Northamptonshire told the ECHO why it was so important to be present at Jurgen Klopp’s event today. He said: “Klopp means the world to me, it’s just a chance to say goodbye.”

Tommy and his friends all said they predict there will be tears at tonight’s event. Andy Kennedy, 56, from Norfolk, said he would cry “without a doubt” before describing the German as a “legend”.

And the emotions didn’t stop there. Many fans discussed their favorite memories of the Klopp era with the ECHO and many emotions were etched on the faces of many as they reminisced.

Geraldine Bly, 67, and Mary Guinness, 87, from Liverpool, were proud of Klopp’s legacy to the city. Discussing the German’s departure, Geraldine said: “I’m getting stuffed now just thinking about it, we just love him.”

Geraldine has followed Liverpool since 1967 and Mary says she has followed them since she was a little girl. Klopp is said to be “up there rubbing shoulders with Shankly”.

There was a lot of love for Klopp, both as a manager and as a man, as Mary said: “We just love the man he’s done so much for our city, not just the football he’s given us brought everyone together again.”

Klopp’s passion, energy and love for the city not only encapsulated the older generation of Liverpool fans, but will have a lasting impact on younger fans as well.

Father and son Dylan Smith, 32, and Jacob Smith, 12, from Oxfordshire, attended an evening with Jurgen Klopp. They traveled to say goodbye to Klopp as they were unable to get tickets for his final game in charge.

Jacob says he will be emotional because “Klopp is the only manager I’ve ever had while a Liverpool fan, so it’s all he’s used to and it’s sad to see him go.” it’s crazy he’s leaving, i knew he’d leave eventually but not this soon.

All Liverpool fans are sad to see Klopp go, but one theme was clear tonight when people spoke to the ECHO, the supporters will all be behind Arne Slot as much as they are behind him Klopp.
