The Caribbean-like beach in Cornwall fascinates people because it looks so exotic | Nottinghamshire Live

You could experience a slice of the Caribbean right here in the UK on this amazing beach. One of the attractions of jetting off to a sunny summer holiday destination is the opportunity to relax on a sandy beach, gazing at the crystal clear waters while you tan. But what if we told you that you could enjoy all of this without even leaving the country?

A seemingly ordinary beach in Britain is causing quite a stir online after people noticed its striking resemblance to beaches along the Caribbean coast. With its stunning blue waters and golden sands, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d traveled across the seas to reach this little piece of paradise – but it’s actually located in Cornwall.

The beach rose to fame after being featured on TikTok by @carbisbayhotelandestate, the account for the luxury property Carbis Bay in St Ives, Cornwall. While the property has its own private beach, the good news is that the stretch of golden sand shown in the video is very accessible to the public.

This beach is known as Pedn Vounder Beach and can be found on the south coast of the Penwith Peninsula in Cornwall, the Mirror reports. However, if you are considering a trip to Pedn Vounder, there are a few things you should keep in mind.

First of all, this secluded spot is a tidal beach, which means there is no beach to speak of when the tide is high. Access to the beach is only by boat or on foot, although the latter involves a “challenging scramble” up steep cliffs.

Be prepared to meet naturists at Pedn Vounder, a beach that has become an unofficial spot for those who prefer to sunbathe naked. Although not officially designated as a naturist beach, signs warn visitors that “naturists may be seen beyond this point”.

Explore Cornwall suggests visiting before the summer school holidays to avoid the crowds, noting that the beach is “very busy” at peak times. The website highlights that Pedn Vounder faces south with high cliffs on either side, providing excellent mid-day sun and late afternoon shade.
