Man injured in brutal late-night street attack

A man was walking through a town in Cornwall when two men assaulted him, police said. The victim, a 30-year-old man from Newquay, suffered a facial injury following the incident in Newquay.

Police were called at around 1am on Saturday, April 27, to Tor Road in Newquay to reports that a man had been attacked. Two men allegedly assaulted the victim, leaving him with a facial injury.

It is not clear if the attackers were known to the victim. One of the suspects was wearing a light colored hooded top and the second was wearing a dark colored top.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the attack to come forward. Anyone with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area is asked to call 101 with a reference to crime. 50240100703 .

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “The man was walking along the Tor Road at around 1am on Saturday, April 27, when he was assaulted by two men. The victim, aged 30 and from Newquay, suffered a facial injury during the incident.

“One of the suspects was wearing a light colored hooded top and the second was wearing a dark colored top.

“Police are investigating and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them. They would also like to hear from anyone who has CCTV or doorbell cameras covering the area, or anyone who may have caught the incident on dashcam.

“Please contact police online or call 101 quoting crime reference 50240100703.”
