Mum finds ‘miracle’ acne cure after six years of avoiding going out

A mum whose face looked permanently ‘sunburnt’ and felt ‘like it was on fire’ when her skin broke out in yellow pimples after giving birth has finally found a ‘miracle’ acne cure after six hundred years spend on skin care. Katie Smith, 36, a receptionist, suddenly developed adult acne after giving birth for the first time in 2018, despite always having clear skin, even as a teenager.

After trying several recipes and an array of skin care products, nothing seemed to improve it. Katie, who lives in Leicester with fiance Luke, a 35-year-old garage owner, felt more frustrated and self-conscious as time went on. She repeatedly canceled plans with her friends, occasionally going out with heavy make-up, but it made her skin worse.

But mum-of-two Nylah, six, and Bodhi, three, discovered Clarol in January 2024 and after using the British brand’s products for a week, her skin started to clear and her redness reduced. Katie now feels more confident and, for the first time in years, went out without make-up.

“I’ve never had acne, not even as a teenager, so when my skin broke out in pus-filled patches and my cheeks got really red, I panicked – I didn’t want to leave the house,” she said. Katie said. “I feel so much more confident now – I used to wear the thickest foundation to cover my skin, now I don’t, or I just wear a BB cream, it’s amazing.

“I felt so bad about myself after giving birth, gaining weight and having acne, so it was difficult. I think to others going through the same thing, I would say try not to be too skeptical of products and definitely give Clarol a try.”

Aside from the occasional hormonal breakout, Katie’s skin had always been clear, even as a teenager. But after giving birth to Nylah in 2018, she started getting acne, mostly on her cheeks.

“My face was so red, like I was sunburned, and I felt like my face was burning,” she explained. “It would be so red and hot and I would have lots of yellow pimples on my face.”

After two months of hoping her skin would clear up, she went to doctors and was prescribed water-based creams, but nothing seemed to work.
