LFC pay tribute on the 39th anniversary of the Heysel Stadium disaster

On May 29, 1985, during the European Cup Final between Liverpool and Juventus, the events in Block Z of the Heysel Stadium in Belgium tragically killed 39 football fans and left hundreds more injured.

As a mark of respect for those who died, club CEO Billy Hogan and ambassador Ian Rush laid a wreath at the Heysel memorial plaque at Anfield this morning.

Flags are also flown at half mast on club sites throughout the day.
