The Superloop 2 map shows the planned routes as ‘missed out’ areas could see new bus services from London

Sadiq Khan has suggested that London’s new Superloop 2 bus routes could be rolled out in different places after initial plans missed out on some areas of outer Londoners. The Superloop was introduced last year, offering residents more express services with fewer stops.

During the election campaign for London mayor, Mr Khan announced that if re-elected he would increase the network.

City Hall says the initial network has been a success, with “SL” buses being used 15% more than average.

A new map was released on April 19, highlighting the routes below:

• Harrow to Barnet via Edgware
• South Havering to Leytonstone via Romford
• Hounslow to Hammersmith
• Streatham to Eltham via Catford
• Ealing to Kingston via Richmond

Places you might miss

But this means that some areas now included in ULEZ could still miss out on faster services, including areas in north, east, south and west London. In the east, Havering would receive the first Superloop services, but only in Romford and South Havering.

It appears that buses may not call at places such as Collier Row, Hornchurch and Upminster. In the south-east, Orpington, Chelsfield, Biggin Hill and New Addington could be missed, according to the map published by Mr Khan’s team. In the south, the same could be true of Purley and Kenley.

Further west, Chessington, Tolworth, Surbiton. In the west it looks like Feltham, West Drayton, Hayes, Harefield, Northwood may not have Superloop services. In the north, places like Bullsmoor could miss out as buses run between Enfield and Chingford.

After being officially sworn in as mayor this morning (Tuesday 7 May), Mr Khan told MyLondon, after being asked if the proposed routes could be extended to areas that are currently not available: “Yes, listen , before we bring in Superloop 2. , we will consult and engage because I want Londoners to be involved in this. It is very important (that) Londoners are engaged and involved.

“So we’ve encouraged those who are concerned that they might not benefit from Superloop 2 to make sure they RSVP.”
