France star Jules Kounde has divided opinion after he was photographed arriving at pre-Euro 2024 training camps wearing heels.

The Barcelona defender has arrived at France base Clairefontaine to join his team-mates who have been named in the 25-man squad.

Kounde, who was seen carrying a Louis Vuitton bag, received attention from fans on social media for another fashion choice.

One fan compared the 25-year-old’s decision to wear heels to a famous clip of Ricky Gervais’ character David Brent from The Office.

Brent memorably joked, “You can still find them,” having been told, “You don’t see heels that much these days, after you put heeled boots on top of a desk on a date.

Regardless of his fashion choices, Kounde could prove to be a key player for France at the upcoming European Championship in Germany.

Kounde has made 26 appearances for his nation after making his debut in 2021.

He has operated at right-back under manager Didier Deschamps, but also offers the national team another option in central defence.

France last won a European Championship in 2000 and were knocked out in the round of 16 three years ago after losing to Switzerland on penalties at the National Arena in Bucharest.
