Harry and Meghan ‘snob’ royal tradition by ‘nannying’ Archie and Lilibet

Prince William and Princess Kate reportedly splashed out on a Norland nanny for their trio of royals, but Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan Markle, 42, are said to prefer a more domestic touch.

Insiders claim the Sussexes have chosen to keep childcare in the family, with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland stepping into the role of nanny for the children. Doria’s move to get more involved came after a series of unsuccessful stints with professional nannies.

“Harry and Meghan have used a number of nannies in the past, but now that Doria has moved in with the family, she has stepped up to help look after the children,” an insider said.

“Sometimes there is extra help, but Doria works closely with Meghan to ensure the children are brought up in a close and loving family environment.”

The Sussexes initially hired Lorren Khumalo, a pediatric nurse and consultant, to look after Prince Archie shortly after his birth while they were still living at Frogmore Cottage. This was before they made the bombshell decision to step back as members of the royal family and move to the US, the Express reports.

In a chat last year, Lorren recalled her first trip to Frogmore Cottage to meet Harry and Meghan. He remembered getting a speeding ticket on the way, but found solace in Harry’s relaxed and friendly nature.

She described the house as surprisingly ‘normal’ and Harry as ‘barefoot’.
