Martin Lewis’s MSE warns TSB customers to “consider switching” the bank

Money Saving expert Martin Lewis has warned TSB customers to look for “alternatives” after it emerged 36 branches are closing. High Street Bank TSB has said it is closing 36 UK branches as part of efforts to move to a better balance of digital and face-to-face services.

It said its customers now do most of their banking digitally. The latest round of closures will leave the group with 175 branches across the country as well as other face-to-face banking services, TSB said today (Wednesday).




BBC and ITV star Mr Lewis’ MSE team explained: “See if there’s a TSB ‘pop-up’ nearby. There are currently 47 of these in England, Scotland and Wales. In these pop-ups you can talk to a TSB. staff member about general product questions, managing existing payments, help with internet and mobile banking, and more.”

But he also explained: “If you need branch access and have no alternative services nearby, consider switching.” A The full list of the 36 branch closures that were announced on Wednesday can be viewed below, as published by MSE.

The next are scheduled to close in September 2024, according to the TSB statement issued on Wednesday.
