A number of staff from Metro Bank’s internal audit team spent a day seeing and taking part in the work being done by The Felix Project, the food rescue organization in Park Royal.

In a recent survey, the charity surveyed parents in west London and found that 21% of parents struggle to feed their families on a regular basis, while 1 in 10 after paying bills of less than £20 pounds a week to spend on food.

Last year (2023), Project Felix distributed over 1,723,434 meals to Ealing residents.

During the day, Metro Bank staff rolled up their sleeves at The Felix Project warehouse and participated in various necessary roles, including labeling, sorting, packaging, collecting and delivering food.

Metro Bank’s director of internal audit, Dipti Kasat, said: “It was eye-opening to see how much effort and coordination went into each step of the process.”

Ms Kasat added: “Hunger is a major problem in the world and witnessing first-hand how The Felix Project tackles this problem by ensuring that good food does not go to waste was truly inspiring. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a vital cause and help change our community.”
