Tribute to the beautiful “never forgotten” 48-year-old boy who died tragically

A mother who lost her newborn baby to a devastating condition wants to raise awareness of the disease for other parents. Beautiful baby Frazer was born 13 weeks premature with his twin brother Louie on Monday 1st April this year.

But tragically, Frazer went into septic shock six weeks later and, despite efforts to save him, died on Sunday, May 19, aged 48 days. Parents Amy Miles and Christopher Clubb, both 22, are now fundraising to help cover funeral costs for their son.

Amy remembers Frazer as full of life: She said: “Fraser was a lot like me. He was so attentive for his age and always looking around and he loved his dummy and he had a little bear that he used to hug everyone. time already had its own little personality”.

Despite their short time together, Frazer made a huge impression: “Even when I was pregnant with him, I always knew which one was moving.”

But Frazer died after suffering from necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), sepsis and a bleed on the brain. Amy said she didn’t know about the condition before she gave birth.

NEC is caused by an inflammation of the intestine. The inflammation causes a hole in the gut that can then cause a life-threatening infection. While NEC is more commonly seen in premature babies, it can also impact full-term babies.

Amy, from Bridgwater, thanked staff at Southmead Hospital in Bristol for their support, saying: “Southmead Hospital have been brilliant. They let me see the psychiatrist on the unit and I got a referral to see someone who deals with trauma. births”.
