Motorists have been urged to avoid Switch Island after a lorry overturned.

Emergency services were called to Switch Island on the M58 at around 6.30am on Friday May 31 following reports of a crash involving a yellow lorry. When police arrived, they found the truck overturned.




The truck driver was checked by paramedics at the scene and no one was injured during the incident. There are several road closures including no access to Brooms Cross Road to the M57/Dunnings Bridge Road and no access to Dunnings Bridge/Northway from the M57.

Traffic is backed up in the area and Merseyside Police previously said the incident was causing “severe delays”. Arriva said there are also two bus diversions, including the 300 and 310 service.


A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “Road closures on the motorway while emergency services remain at the scene. Please avoid the area. If you have any information about this incident please contact @MerPolCC on 101 quoting log 118 of Friday 31 May.”
