The Chase’s Mark Labbett says ‘I surrender’ as he faces ‘best player’

Chase’s Mark Labbett declared “I surrender” as he faced “the best player” on Friday.

The latest installment of the hit ITV show saw four players welcomed into the studio. Bradley Walsh introduced viewers to Fabe, Robyn, Joe and Angelene and it soon became apparent that they would have to defeat The Beast if they wanted to go home with some money.

Fabe was first and played a blinder. The teacher answered nine questions correctly during his cash-generating round.

When it came to offers, he was offered the option of playing for £3,000, £9,000 or £40,000. Because he was first and didn’t know what would happen as the game progressed, he said, he went for the £9,000.

He said: “If I was in another place I might have gone on the 40, but because I’m not, I’ll stick with the nine.”

Mark said: “It’s an absolute waste of the best number one player”, as Bradley also called it “a disgrace”. Chaser added: “You get caught up in offers, but if you’re not the best player, I’m turning in now.”
