Suspect arrested after teenage girl was ‘sexually assaulted’ on Bristol bus

A suspect has been arrested after a teenage girl reported being sexually assaulted on a bus in Bristol. The 61-year-old was arrested last night, Thursday May 30, and remains in police custody.

Avon and Somerset Police said a teenage girl was inappropriately touched while traveling on the number 43 bus heading towards Cadbury Heath in Bristol city centre. The reported sexual assault occurred on Monday, February 26, at approximately 7:40 p.m.



Police said: “A man has been arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation into a sexual assault on a bus in Bristol. A teenage girl was inappropriately touched at around 7.40pm on Monday 26 February on the number 43 bus heading towards Cadbury Heath in Bristol. downtown.

“A 61-year-old man was arrested last night (Thursday 30 May) and remains in police custody. The victim and her family have been informed and our inquiries into the incident are ongoing.

“Earlier this week we issued a CCTV image of a man who we hope the public can help us identify. We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal and contacted us with information.”
