The funniest business names in the UK are listed as you can pick the best one

The country’s funniest business names have been shortlisted and people now have the chance to vote for their favourite. Simply Business has partnered with comedian Darren Walsh to find the best small business name in the UK.

With Darren’s knowledge of puns, he selected the 10 shortlisted companies, which include Thready or Knott Embroidery, Indian-inspired street food business Tikka Chance On Me and equestrian shop Top Of The Clops, who have the chance to win the prize. title and prize money of £2,500.



The public can now vote for their favorite small business name on the Simply Business website: https://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/britains-best-small-business-name/. Voting closes on 13 May and the winner of the £2,500 prize will be announced on 23 May 2024.

The competition was relaunched for the third time alongside “You name it. We insure it’ campaign featuring some of the hottest names in UK small business including:

  • Pane in the Glass – Norfolk window and door repair business
  • Get Stuffed – takeaway restaurant in Shadwell, London
  • Curl Up and Dye – hair salon in Kingston, South London
  • Rough Around The Hedges – mobile gardener in Elmbridge, Surrey

Research by Simply Business has revealed that a witty or funny business name plays a significant role in helping small businesses succeed – with half of consumers saying they are likely or very likely to shop at a small business with a name of funny or witty company.
