Leeds United games could be on free-to-air TV next season as the fixture list is turned on its head

Leeds United fans could have the chance to watch their team on free-to-air TV next season following a deal announced between Sky Sports and ITV.

The two broadcasters have reached an agreement to televise selected Championship and Carabao Cup matches in the coming period. The new deal will start in January 2025, starting with the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.

ITV will simulcast 10 Championship games each season and five games from the second half of the 2024/25 campaign. Each full season, ITV will also show at least nine Carabao Cup ties, including the final, one semi-final and two quarter-finals, giving Whites supporters the opportunity to watch Daniel Farke’s side from the comfort of their own home.

EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch said: “We are delighted to continue a long-standing relationship with ITV in partnership with Sky Sports to provide further exposure of the best of the EFL to a wider audience.

“We want EFL to be accessible to as many audiences as possible, and this additional offering, without an additional subscription, only enhances our reputation.

“I would like to thank both organizations for their continued support and genuine commitment to all EFL competitions.”
