Chef Marmo names his favorite restaurants in Bristol

Located in the bustling center of Bristol, Marmo has made a huge impression since opening in 2019. Replacing the former Bar Buvette, the Bib Gourmand restaurant has stood out for its character, rustic look and excellent meat and fish dishes in an ever-changing atmosphere . the menu.

Chef Cosmo Sterck, who co-owns the Baldwin Street restaurant with wife Lily (who works front of house), spoke about his favorite places to eat and drink in Bristol. These top tips and recommendations are part of a Bristol Live series highlighting some of the best chefs and restaurants in the city, according to the chefs themselves.




Cosmo spent time working at some of London’s best restaurants, including St John and Brawn and Rubedo in Stoke Newington, while Lily was a solicitor who followed Cosmo into the hospitality industry. When not working at Marmo, where do they like to go in Bristol?

Hi Cosmo, what’s your absolute go-to place for food in bristol?

Bokman never disappoints! Always delicious with interesting new dishes on the menu every time we go. A concise wine list with some very reasonable gems from Bristol wine importer Vine Trail.

Where is your ultimate Sunday lunch destination?

Mayflower is a Bristol institution and on Sundays they serve tasty dim sum which is often what I crave after a week in the kitchen.

Where would you say offers the best value for money?

Authentic Hot Pot Noodles & Hand-Pulled Noodles has become a lunch favorite. The chef-owner with unique crew makes the noodles himself, often to order, often with a Tiger beer in hand! I am a big fan of Biang Biang noodles.
