BOX SCORE

Game Notes: Who doesn’t love a foreplay? The first round of a heavyweight fight? Bottom card? The first fight of a multi-fight deal? Okay, enough boxing references, but Saturday’s game between the Panthers and Stallions is really the game before the game.

With the two teams already locked in a playoff matchup weeks ago (the other two teams in the division are a combined 2-16), the Panthers will get a chance for a feel-good game against the Stallions before facing them again a week later, the UFL playoffs.

The Panthers started the season 2-2, but have snapped a seven-game winning streak since a Week 4 loss on the road to the San Antonio Brahmas. Unfortunately for Michigan, one of those early season losses came in Birmingham and the team had to wait until the final week to get revenge.

With minimal stakes on the line, it’s hard to tell how much (or who) the two teams will look like on the field, but if nothing else, it provides a good chance to get some momentum going before they play again the next time they touch down land with everything at stake.
