Leeds United want the Sheffield United star, who is becoming a top target for the summer

Leeds United are already plotting promotion to the Championship next season and, as HITC has learned, Daniel Jebbison has become one of their biggest transfer targets.

The Sheffield United forward’s contract at Bramall Lane is expiring and despite their best efforts, the Blades have been unable to agree a deal for the Canadian-born England youth international.

The 20-year-old missed most of the season with a blood clot, but his long-term fitness was never in doubt and he returned to action towards the end of the season.

Leeds want to sign Daniel Jebbison from Sheffield United

HITC have learned that Jebbison has received offers from across England and Europe, but Leeds are confident of landing him after identifying him as a key summer target.

However, Leeds technical director Gretar Steinsson, who discovered Jebbison during his time at Everton, is keen to sign Jebbison as he looks to add more physicality and youth to the squad, particularly in the forward area.

As far as we know, Everton, Brighton and newly promoted sides Ipswich and Leicester are among the clubs in the running for him, while Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Monaco have also expressed an interest.

If Jebbison does indeed leave Bramall Lane, it would be a huge loss for manager Chris Wilder, who had hoped he would stay.

Club president Stephen Bettis recently said he was hopeful of a deal.

“We as a club would like to tie him down to a longer-term deal and, as I said, we are currently in positive discussions with him,” he told the Sheffield Star.
