Everton, Ipswich Town and Leicester City ‘express interest’ in ‘top’ Leeds United transfer target

There is a strong possibility that Leeds United boss Daniel Farke will look to strengthen his attacking options this summer. Injuries limited Patrick Bamford’s playing time towards the end of the 2023/24 campaign, while Joel Piroe struggled to find match consistency. Spain Under-21 international Mateo Joseph is a talented prospect but remains very much a work in progress.

Could Sheffield United’s Daniel Jebbison be the long-term solution to their no. 9? The 20-year-old is one of the Whites’ “top transfer targets”, according to HITC.

The deal with Jebbison’s Blades expires at the end of the month. He has been offered a new contract but is yet to commit his future to United’s Yorkshire rivals.

A former England youth international who also qualifies for Canada, Jebbison has missed most of the 2023/24 season with a blood clot. He returned to action after their Premier League fate had already been sealed.

The HITC report claims that Jebbison has “generated offers” from across England and Europe but that the Whites are hoping to secure his services. Everton, Brighton and Hove Albion, Ipswich Town and Leicester City are among the clubs who have made moves to try and sign Jebbison. Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Monaco have also expressed interest in his services.

United technical director Gretar Steinsson, who previously watched Jebbison during his time at Everton, is believed to be keen to bring in Jebbison as the club want more physicality in the front line.

When asked about Jebbison’s future in March, Sheffield United CEO Stephen Bettis said: “We’re still working on it, we’re having positive conversations about it at the moment.”
