Busy road in Cornwall closed following crash – live updates

A busy coast road in Cornwall is currently closed following an accident this evening (Saturday 1 June). The crash, first reported after 6pm, happened on Watergate Road in Newquay between Trevelgue Road and Trevarrian Hill.

Emergency services are currently on the scene. Traffic sources are reporting various delays along the route as drivers use nearby routes to get away from the area.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix shared: “Watergate Road closed in both directions, traffic backed up due to accident between Trevelgue Road (Trevelgue) and Trevarrian Hill (Watergate Bay).”
