Hans Leitert has been named Fenway Sports Group’s new head of global goalkeeping in another significant change at the back led by Michaed Edwards.

Leitert, 51, previously worked as a goalkeeping consultant at Liverpool, coming on board to work with Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet – among others – in 2018.

He spent five years within the Red Bull football operation as Head of Goalkeeping, responsible for the goalkeeping department at RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Brasil (now Red Bull Bragantino) and the now defunct Red Bull Ghana.

Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg has hit out at the club after setting an asking price this summer. The Dutchman wants out.

Sepp van den Berg spoke to De Telegraaf this week and it’s clear he’s not happy with his situation at Liverpool. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Mainz, having been at Preston North End the previous season.

Importantly, however, Van den Berg has excelled in the Bundesliga this season. He has established himself as one of the most exciting young defenders in German football – and it seems he would like to stay.
