What Dortmund fans did after seeing ex-Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in the Champions League final

Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was spotted at Wembley ahead of the Champions League final between Real Madrid and another of his former clubs, Borussia Dortmund.

Klopp was caught by the television cameras and when his face appeared on the big screens inside the stadium, the Dortmund fans who were inside early enough gave him a big cheer. The German could be seen smiling as he realized what was happening.

Those wearing replica yellow shirts and black and yellow scarves gave Klopp a big ovation, which was quickly stopped and turned into light boos when Jose Mourinho’s face appeared on the screen. Then Klopp came back and the cheers started again!

After his second appearance on the big screen, Klopp could be seen shouting “Come on!”. and raised his arms in the air as a message to the Dortmund fans inside the ground. Their side will need all the help they can get as they face an uphill battle against the Spanish giants.

Dortmund overcame PSG to reach the final, former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can captaining the team. Real Madrid defeated Manchester City to set up what could be their 15th win in UEFA’s top competition.

On this day five years ago, Liverpool and Klopp won a sixth Champions League title in Madrid, coming out on top against Tottenham on that occasion. Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi scored the goals in a 2-0 win at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The Reds will return to the top club competition next season under Arne Slot after successfully qualifying in Klopp’s final campaign in charge.
