‘One of Hinckley’s best’ pubs takes decision to shut down live music after complaints

A bar offering “one of the best” live music options in a Leicestershire town has decided to pull its live music shows after receiving noise complaints from local residents. Baton Rouge, in Regent Street, Hinckley, said the decision would come into effect from Friday (May 31).

In a social media post, he said he was doing “everything in his power to fight it” after the live music “upset some of the locals”. The bar said it made the decision because it “wants to be the decision makers” rather than risk being stopped by the council.

Fans of the bar said they were “disgusted,” while another bar in the city said it was “really frustrated” for Baton Rouge. Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council said it worked with Baton Rouge after “receiving complaints about the volume of music in the premises”.
