The Met Office is forecasting 26C, but it comes with three warnings

The weather will continue to warm over the coming days, with bright and sunny conditions for many, according to the Met Office, but weather experts have issued three warnings. High pressure will dominate, temperatures continue to rise. Highs of 24C are possible on Thursday and could reach as high as 26C in the south on Saturday.

While most of the UK will enjoy this fine weather, showers and more unsettled conditions are likely in the far north and north-west, and the Met Office says the warm weather is bringing an increase in UV levels. They are expected to reach moderate to high levels in the UK over the next few days.

A spokesman said: “It is important that if you are in an area that is particularly sunny over the coming days, you take steps to ensure you and your family are protected from these increased UV levels.”

They also issued a warning on pollen levels, adding: “Pollen levels are also increasing as temperatures rise, with medium to high levels over the next five days.”

And finally, forecasters have warned that the hot weather is not set to last.

Weather conditions are expected to return to a more unsettled pattern as we head into the new work week. Rain and showers will begin to move in from the west due to a developing low in the Atlantic.

Deputy Chief Meteorologist Tony Wisson said: “Many places will get off to a fine and warm start on Sunday, although it is likely to become cloudier from the west or south-west during the day. This will be accompanied by scattered showers, which could be heavy with thunder.
