Anthony Gordon and Manchester United have been absent from England training

Anthony Gordon was absent from England training on Sunday.

BBC Sport’s Ian Dennis breaks the news.

BBC Sport man says Anthony Gordon is one of three missing today.

The other two not training are Manchester United pair Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.

Dennis says four more players have yet to link up with the England squad after appearing in the Champions League and FA Cup finals, that quartet being Bellingham, Mainoo, Foden and Walker.

Earlier on Sunday, the Mail’s Craig Hope reported that Anthony Gordon has missed full training with England in recent days as a precaution, following the ankle problem that kept him out of the season-ending win at Brentford two weeks ago.

Anthony Gordon looks set to miss this friendly with Bosnia and Herzegovina at St James’ Park and will instead be targeted for Friday’s Wembley friendly against Iceland.

Gareth Southgate is simply looking after the Newcastle United man and doing everything to ensure he is fit and on the plane to Germany when he names his final 26-man squad later this week.
