Take quizzes in Cornwall this summer in aid of Marie Curie

Trivia and quiz fans in Cornwall are being urged to host a big summer quiz in aid of Marie Curie.

The charity, which supports and cares for those living with terminal illness, is encouraging residents to hold a quiz night and raise funds for their critical work.

Marie Curie’s Big Summer Quiz is a fun gathering to test your knowledge with your loved ones.

From suggested questions and guidance, Marie Curie provides all the materials you need to plan your big summer test.

These resources can be found on their online platform mariecurie.org.uk/fundraise.

Money raised from hosting a test will go towards Marie Curie’s mission to provide care and support to people suffering from terminal illnesses, including those close to them.

The charity, heavily dependent on fundraising and public donations, encourages local people to generate funds in their own unique and creative ways.

In Cornwall, the Marie Curie team of health professionals provide care at home in hospices, as well as emotional and practical support, whether at home, in hospitals or over the phone.

The charity also offers a free information and support service which extends to anyone with a terminal illness and their loved ones.

This service meets everyone’s needs – from symptom management, daily care, financial guidance to bereavement support.

Marie Curie Community Fundraiser for Cornwall, Isles of Scilly and Channel Islands, Lynda Thomas, said: “Whether you’re a maths whiz or a hobby entomologist, put your brain power to a great cause this summer by hosting or taking part to a Big Summer Quiz to support the crucial work Marie Curie is doing in the UK.

“Today, one in four people do not receive the care and support they need at the end of life.

“Every pound raised is vital to help us improve end-of-life care and give people the vital emotional and practical help they need.”
