Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest today

Jean-Philippe Mateta makes his debut for Crystal Palace in their Premier League clash with Manchester United today.

In what will be Palace’s second visit to Old Trafford in four days after Tuesday night’s 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat, Hodgson said no currently released players have recovered from injury.

However, Jairo Riedewald passed a fitness test with only cramp after being forced off in midweek.

“Nothing has changed since Tuesday,” Hodgson said. “We haven’t got everyone back, so pretty much the same team we took to Manchester on Tuesday, we’ll take there tomorrow.”

Of former United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, he added: “He’s been scanned. The initial scan was not very positive, sorry to say.

“He’s having another scan in a week and maybe we’ll be lucky it will show a bit less damage than the first, but it didn’t look like good news.”

Striker Odsonne Edouard picked up an injury against Fulham last weekend. Hodgson said: “This is the first league game he will miss.

“This game came a little too early and we can’t take the risk of reactivating the mild muscle injury and doing more than that. This is the decision I made.”
